Panic Probe — use & safety
Steelyard Ventures LLC · October 13, 2026
A local experiment only
Panic Probe records a local test event. It does not detect danger, monitor you, contact a trusted person, call 911, send a location or obtain emergency assistance. Do not depend on it for personal safety or substitute it for your normal way of contacting emergency services. Use it only in a safe test setting.
Apple controls Vocal Shortcuts training, listening and device behavior. The app cannot verify speech or inspect whether the phone stayed locked. A saved successful trial combines a matching local receipt with your own answers. One successful trial does not establish reliability in other conditions or future availability. Permissions, interruptions, restart, force-quit, battery state and system changes can affect testing.
Cancel or finish the trial in the app and separately disable the test listener in Apple's Settings. Do not weaken phone security or add calls/messages to the harmless test. Use a non-sensitive word, not a password. No purchase, subscription or emergency-service contract is created by using this beta.
Licensing and beta use
Apple's standard app license is the intended App Store baseline when no custom license is supplied: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/ . Apple's TestFlight terms govern beta participation: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/testflight/sren/terms.html .
These are practical usage notices, not a custom EULA, liability waiver or statement that Apple has approved a safety claim. They do not limit applicable consumer rights. The beta can expire or change; it is not a promised ongoing service. Help and privacy requests: help@steelyardventures.com.
