Craft Pattern privacy policy

Steelyard Ventures LLC · October 13, 2026 · private beta 0.1.0

Your local projects

Craft Pattern stores project names, imported PDF copies, row and repeat counts, counter undo history, reading positions, reading-guide positions and next-step notes in its private app container. It has no account, developer-operated cloud service, advertising SDK, purchase flow or analytics SDK in this beta. The app does not automatically transmit your projects or files to Steelyard.

Importing a PDF copies the file you select into the app. Your original PDF outside the app is not changed. Only import files you have permission to use. The original practice PDF bundled with the app is a walkthrough, not validated craft instructions.

Backup, restore and file providers

The private library is excluded from automatic device backup. Keep your original PDFs and use Backup & restore regularly. Deleting the app can remove its local library; offloading can retain app data.

A portable .craftbackup file contains project details, notes, progress and embedded PDF copies. It is not encrypted. Export opens the system file picker; you choose the destination. A selected cloud provider may upload that file under its own policies. Craft Pattern has no automatic upload or backup schedule. Restore validates the file and adds new project copies instead of replacing current projects.

Deleting projects

Deleting a project removes its saved counts, notes and reading state from the library. Your original source PDF is unchanged. To protect reading transitions and interrupted imports, an unreferenced app-generated PDF copy may remain locally until a later launch after it is more than 24 hours old. Unknown, recently created or referenced files are retained. Exported backups are independent copies; deleting a project does not delete those backups. Delete any exported copy through the file provider where you saved it.

Device and beta services

The app requests no camera, microphone, location, photo-library, tracking or contacts permission. Local file metadata and timing are used for safe imports, validation, cleanup and storage-lock timeouts, not device fingerprinting. Files and text are not sent in ad requests because there are no ad requests in this beta.

TestFlight automatically collects crash logs and usage data for Apple and the developer; testers cannot opt out of this beta-testing data collection. You may separately submit feedback or screenshots. Reports can contain device identifiers and personal information. This is separate from Craft Pattern’s local library and selected file-provider actions. Removing the app does not erase reports already submitted. Request deletion of developer-held correspondence or feedback at the support address; Apple handles its own records. See https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/testflight/sren/terms.html .

Support correspondence

If you email help@steelyardventures.com, Steelyard receives what you choose to send, including your reply address. Do not send PDFs, backups or private notes unless you choose to share them to investigate a problem. Support correspondence is handled manually and kept as needed to resolve the request and meet applicable business or legal requirements. You may ask us to delete correspondence; no automatic deletion timer or guaranteed response time is promised. We cannot remotely access or delete your app's local library.

Contact and changes

Contact help@steelyardventures.com with privacy or support questions. If a later version adds accounts, ads, analytics, purchases or cloud services, its disclosures and controls will need to change. This policy describes the private beta above.
