Version notice — October 17, 2026: Version 1.2 keeps advertising disabled in Tamil. The optional Tamil advertising flow described here for version 1.3 (build 7) is planned and is not yet publicly released. Your installed version determines which controls are available.

Circular Chess is casual, offline chess against a practice computer or another person sharing your device. Difficulty has no verified Elo rating. The four styles have different rules; this is not tournament software and does not recognize every possible dead position. Each board’s Rules explains its behavior.
Games are saved locally. Starting New Game replaces only the selected style. Deleting the app can remove your saves; there is no developer recovery service.
The app is free, with optional advertising and no purchases or subscriptions. Declining ads or permissions leaves every game available. Privacy explains the choices and service data handling.
Tamil and English are available in the same app. Version 1.2 keeps ads disabled in Tamil. Planned version 1.3 (build 7) offers optional ads in either language after the required adult, regional and Apple permissions; Tamil also asks you to confirm that you understand the language of Google's detailed choices. Declining leaves every game available. Switching language does not turn ads on automatically. See Privacy for the version-specific details.
Earlier TestFlight beta policy — before public launch
This archived text describes the earlier ordinary and Consent Test beta editions. Its references to demo ads and release status apply to those earlier builds, not the current ad-enabled public edition described above. TestFlight builds remain subject to Apple’s TestFlight terms.

License and this notice
For App Store distribution, Apple’s standard app EULA is the licensing baseline where no custom EULA is supplied. Apple’s TestFlight terms govern beta participation. This app-specific notice explains features and precautions; it is not a new custom contract or a replacement for those terms.
Casual practice and shared-device play
Circular Chess offers Standard, Cylinder, Circular and King of the Hill with a local practice computer or two players sharing one device. It does not provide online opponents, rated matchmaking, a chess clock, tournament administration or a verified opponent rating. Difficulty labels describe this app’s practice choices; they do not establish an Elo rating or promise improvement.
Styles have different board topology and rules. Read the relevant Rules before relying on a move or result. Standard and Cylinder support current-position draw claims and specified automatic draws; intended-move claims and exhaustive dead-position recognition are not implemented. Circular has its own documented pawn, castling and promotion rules and detects bare-kings draws, not every dead-material position. King of the Hill ends when a legal king move reaches a central goal; ordinary insufficient-material draws do not apply. This is not a tournament arbiter or a substitute for the rules agreed by participants.
Saved games and beta limits
Each style saves separately on the device. Confirmed Restart replaces that style’s game; New game applies your confirmed choices. There is no game-history export or developer recovery service. Deleting the app can remove games and preferences; operating-system backups depend on your settings. Beta replacement or expiry can interrupt access or lose progress. Avoid treating a beta game as the only record of a match that matters to you.
Optional services
The selected Consent Test beta offers Google demonstration banners on Home only. They earn no production revenue. Under-18, ads-off, declined tracking, refused regional permission or an unknown/error state leaves core features free and ad-free. The age choice is an advertising eligibility self-confirmation, not a new minimum-age license restriction or proof of child-privacy compliance. No ad interaction is required to use the app. Privacy controls do not erase service records already processed. Read Privacy for Google, Apple and support-data handling.
There is no in-app purchase or subscription flow in this beta. Any future commercial change must be disclosed for the version that offers it; earlier price ideas are not a charge or entitlement.

TestFlight automatically provides crash and usage data to Apple and Steelyard. Written or visual feedback is optional; do not include private information in it. Email help@steelyardventures.com for help or a privacy request. No response deadline, future-feature delivery date, result accuracy certification or legal clearance is promised by this notice. Nothing here replaces protections that applicable law gives you.
