Version notice — October 17, 2026: Version 1.2 keeps advertising disabled in Tamil. The optional Tamil advertising flow described here for version 1.3 (build 7) is planned and is not yet publicly released. Your installed version determines which controls are available.

Games on your device

Each style saves its moves, opponent, side, difficulty and orientation locally, along with your last selected style and app-language preference. The computer runs on your device. There is no account, online multiplayer or developer cloud backup. We do not upload games to our own servers or include game content in ad requests. The app requests no camera, microphone, contacts, location or photo-library access.

Starting New Game replaces only that style’s save; Cancel preserves it. Deleting the app can remove games and preferences. Device backups depend on your settings. We cannot retrieve or erase local saves remotely, and local deletion does not erase backup copies.

Optional ads and your choices

Google AdMob banners appear on Home only. Advertising requires confirmation that you are 18+, the required regional permissions and Apple tracking authorization. Refusal, under 18, unknown permission or errors leaves every game free without ads. No purchase or ad interaction is required. Your age choice lasts for this app session; no birth date is requested or saved.

After adult confirmation and any displayed provider-language acknowledgement, Google’s consent service runs before Apple’s tracking prompt. A later tracking refusal does not undo that earlier processing. Google stores consent signals locally. We retain a Boolean that keeps required privacy options accessible; it is not your age or permission to advertise.

Ad privacy options remain available when required, including after relaunch or tracking denial. Opening them can contact Google before this session’s adult confirmation. That withdrawal action alone does not enable ads or request tracking. When ads are enabled, changed choices are rechecked against all permission requirements. You can also change tracking permission in iOS Settings.

Keeping ads off removes banners and stops new banner requests; in-flight activity may finish. It does not erase records already processed.

Language and ads

Version 1.3 (build 7), planned: Eligible adults may choose optional Home banners while using either English or Tamil. The app's own ad explanations and privacy controls are translated into Tamil. Google's detailed privacy choices may appear in English or another language it supports for your device. Before enabling ads in Tamil, confirm that you can read and understand those choices. This confirmation is not a substitute for Google's regional choices or Apple's tracking permission. If you cannot understand the provider's choices, keep ads off; every game remains available.

Changing the interface language closes the current ad context and keeps banners off until you choose to enable them again under the required checks. It does not erase previously processed Google records. In version 1.3, return to the boards and use Ad privacy options when shown, in either interface language, to revisit Google choices. Opening required privacy options may contact Google without enabling advertising.

Version 1.2: Tamil remains ad-free. To revisit earlier Google privacy choices in that version, select English, return to the boards, then choose Ad privacy options if shown. Switching language does not automatically enable ads.

Google service data

Google and its advertising services can process IP address/approximate location, device/app identifiers, advertising and app interactions, crash information and performance diagnostics to deliver, measure, protect and improve their services. Authorized identifiers may be linked across other companies’ apps or websites. Device ID is collected, linked and used for tracking.

We request nonpersonalized ads and disable Google’s publisher first-party ID; these measures do not mean no tracking or no data collection. We use no mediation adapter, customer-list upload or private game-content targeting. See Google’s SDK disclosures and privacy policy for its processing, retention and deletion. We cannot erase every independent provider record.

Apple, testing and support

Apple may provide store statistics and, if you choose analytics sharing, crash and usage reports. Manage sharing in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements. See Apple App Analytics privacy.

TestFlight instead shares beta crash logs and usage automatically; optional feedback may identify you. Earlier Consent Test builds use Google demonstration banners, which still process service data but earn nothing. See TestFlight privacy.

Website links send normal request data, including IP address and browser information, to the website host. Our support pages use Cloudflare. Game moves are not included.

For help or privacy/deletion requests, use our support website. We receive the contact details and content you choose to send. We retain correspondence and reports only as needed to investigate, respond and meet applicable business or legal obligations; no fixed automatic expiry applies. Uninstalling does not delete correspondence. Avoid unnecessary personal information.

We update this policy when practices change. Apple, Google and services you choose to open handle their own services under their policies.

Earlier TestFlight beta policy — before public launch

This archived text describes the earlier ordinary and Consent Test beta editions. Its references to demo ads and release status apply to those earlier builds, not the current ad-enabled public edition described above. TestFlight builds remain subject to Apple’s TestFlight terms.

Earlier beta: Circular Chess & Variants privacy

Steelyard Ventures LLC · Updated October 13, 2026

This policy describes the current private beta 0.1.0, including ordinary SDK-unlinked and Consent Test versions. Production ad serving and public app release are not enabled. It must be reviewed again before those practices change.

Your games

Circular Chess stores separate Standard, Cylinder, Circular and King of the Hill games on your device, including moves, play mode, orientation, difficulty and your chosen side. It also stores the last selected style locally. The practice computer runs on your device. Style search and lesson progress remain temporary screen state. There is no app account, remote AI, online multiplayer or developer cloud backup.

Saved games, moves, searches and lesson content are not intentionally sent to Steelyard or included in ad requests. The app requests no camera, microphone, contacts, location or photo-library permission. The advertising version places a banner only on Home, not gameplay.

Reset Game replaces only the current style after confirmation and retains opponent, color and difficulty. New game uses your confirmed choices; Cancel preserves the game. Deleting the app can remove local games and preferences. Operating-system backups depend on your settings; Steelyard cannot retrieve or delete device-only saves remotely. Local deletion does not guarantee secure erasure from storage or backups. There is no game-history export in this version.

Optional advertising and your choices

The ordinary app contains no Google advertising or consent SDK. The internal Consent Test version tests Google advertising and consent. Its banners are Google demonstration ads and earn no production revenue. Production banner serving is not enabled.

Advertising versions first offer “I’m 18 or older — continue”, “I’m under 18”, and “Keep ads off”. The age choice remains in memory for this app session; we do not ask for or store your birth date. This is self-confirmation, not independent age verification. Choosing under 18 or keeping ads off leaves the app free and ad-free.

Google’s consent service retains consent signals locally, and the app remembers whether an ad-privacy-options entry was previously required so you can revisit it after relaunch. This retained status is not advertising permission or a stored birth date. Choosing a required privacy-options control can contact Google to refresh and display your choices even while ads are off or before this session’s adult confirmation. Before this session’s adult confirmation, or while local ads are kept off, this withdrawal action does not enable banners or request tracking authorization. In an adult-enabled session, changed choices are reevaluated under the normal permission checks, including Apple tracking permission when needed.

After adult confirmation, Google’s consent service presents the applicable regional choices. Ads stay off unless required regional permissions are affirmatively satisfied. Unknown, missing or malformed permission state, refusal or a setup error does not enable ads. Only after this check does the app request Apple App Tracking Transparency permission when needed. The advertising SDK and banners are allowed only while Apple reports tracking is authorized and all other eligibility checks pass. Denied, restricted or unanswered tracking permission leaves the app free and ad-free. Core features do not require ads.

Required Google ad-privacy options remain available even when Apple tracking permission is denied. You can revisit available privacy controls in the app and change tracking permission in iOS Settings. Keeping ads off stops further banner requests and removes the displayed banner; it does not erase data already processed, and initialized or in-flight service activity may finish.

Google’s consent service runs before Apple’s tracking prompt. A later tracking refusal does not reverse consent-service processing already performed. The current publisher-consent test uses Steelyard’s Google application identity and a Google demonstration banner; it does not request production banners.

Information used by Google services

Google services can process IP address and approximate location, device/app identifiers, advertising and app interactions, and crash, performance or other diagnostic information. Google and its advertising partners use service data to deliver and measure advertising and operate or improve their services. Tracking-authorized advertising can link device identifiers to people or devices and use them for advertising measurement across other companies’ apps or services. The advertising disclosure therefore includes Device ID as collected, linked and used for tracking. Test ads do not eliminate service processing.

The app requests nonpersonalized ads and disables Google’s publisher first-party ID. These are additional limits, not promises of anonymity, no identifiers or no tracking. There is no mediation adapter, uploaded customer list or private app-content targeting in this implementation. See Google’s SDK data disclosure and Google’s privacy policy. We do not promise a fixed retention period or remote deletion of every Google or advertising-partner record.

Support and testing

Email help@steelyardventures.com for help or privacy requests. We receive your message, email address and attachments you choose to send, and use them to respond and investigate. Support correspondence is held separately from local app data and kept as needed to resolve the request and meet applicable business or legal requirements; no fixed automatic expiration is promised. You may request deletion at the same address. Removing the app does not delete correspondence already sent. Do not send passwords, payment details or identity documents; an initial report does not require private content.

When you use this beta through TestFlight, Apple and Steelyard automatically receive crash logs and usage data; TestFlight does not provide an opt-out from that beta-data collection. Written or visual feedback you submit is optional. Tester information, diagnostic data and screenshots can contain identifying information. This processing is separate from the app’s local storage and Google services and is used to investigate and improve the beta. Avoid confidential content in feedback. Stopping testing does not erase reports already submitted. See Apple’s TestFlight terms.

Changes

We update this policy when the app’s data practices change. The policy must match the version you use. Apple, Google and services you deliberately share with handle their own services under their policies.
